MTR, the specialty mobility solutions subsidiary of Motrex Group, announced that it has supplied its CV1 electric minibus—based on the Hyundai ST1 platform—for Hana Bank’s mobile branch, “Mobile Hana Bank”.

In line with the government’s eco-friendly policy initiatives, Hana Bank introduced the CV1 electric minibus, based on the Hyundai ST1 platform, as part of efforts to expand electric vehicle adoption to small and mid-sized branch vehicles. The vehicle has been equipped with interior space suitable for financial consultations and business operations, and it will be operated as a field-oriented mobile banking branch. MTR was responsible for supplying the CV1 vehicle for this project, while a partner company oversaw the special vehicle modifications and internal space configuration.

This project marks a meaningful milestone as it represents a “mobile financial platform” that combines banking services with electric mobility technology, going beyond the concept of a simple mobile branch. It is viewed as a new service model to respond to changes in the financial environment, such as population aging, regional disparities in financial access, support for mobility-disadvantaged customers, and growing demand for on-site financial services.

The CV1 deployed for “Mobile Hana Bank” is an electric minibus built on the Hyundai ST1 platform and was supplied by MTR. The CV1’s quiet and eco-friendly electric platform provides a real-world example of how electric vehicles can be used to operate mobile financial services.

In addition, the CV1 features V2L (Vehicle to Load) capability, enabling the supply of external power from the vehicle to operate office equipment, IT devices, and consultation systems inside the mobile branch. This functionality is expected to further enhance the practical usability and operational efficiency of mobile financial services.

Previously, MTR collaborated with Hyundai Motor Company to operate mobile services using the AI-based DRT (Demand Responsive Transport) platform and CV1 electric shuttles in Icheon (Gyeonggi Province), Seosan, and Cheongyang (Chungcheongnam-do). As vehicles increasingly evolve from simple means of transport to platform-based service providers, CV1 is expected to be utilized for a variety of mobile services in fields such as healthcare, administration, welfare, and education in the future.

A representative from MTR stated, “This is a significant case where the CV1 electric minibus has been applied in a real mobile financial service,” adding, “We will continue to expand the supply of our electric minibus platforms for use in diverse sectors including finance, public service, and welfare.”
