Motrex EV, the smart EV charging solution provider under Motrex Group, announced on the 14th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SoluM to explore new business opportunities and enhance sales cooperation in the Middle East and Africa.

This MOU was established to jointly seek entry into the EV charging infrastructure market within the Middle East and Africa.

Through the agreement, the two companies plan to combine Motrex EV’s capabilities in charger products and operation solutions with SoluM’s expertise in developing and supplying EV charging power modules, along with local networks and business development capabilities, to discover new opportunities and establish a collaborative framework for EV charger infrastructure projects.

The Middle East and Africa regions are witnessing a gradual increase in demand for EV charging infrastructure in line with the expansion of EV adoption and energy transition policies. Investments in eco-friendly mobility infrastructure, particularly in major countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are expected to grow.

Motrex EV offers a diversified lineup of charger products—including AC and DC chargers, V2G chargers, and portable chargers—alongside charging operation solutions such as CSMS-based monitoring, app connectivity, and remote control. The company is also expanding its smart charging infrastructure business by integrating energy management technologies, including V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), VPP (Virtual Power Plant), and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure).

Currently, the two companies are discussing the supply of EV chargers through SoluM’s local joint venture factory in Saudi Arabia. They are also considering further collaboration linked to local production infrastructure, aiming to establish a stable supply base in the region step by step.

Qatar has also been identified as a key target market. The companies plan to initially supply exhibition and sales samples through local partners in Qatar, and will consider additional supplies based on market demand and ongoing developments.

Under this partnership, SoluM will focus on identifying local customers, project planning, and assessing commercialization opportunities, while Motrex EV will take charge of supplying charger products, providing technical support, and managing quality.

By integrating their respective products, technologies, and business networks, both companies aim to expand their business foundation in the rapidly growing EV charging infrastructure market across the Middle East and Africa.

A Motrex EV representative commented, “This MOU is significant as it establishes a cooperative foundation for Motrex EV to expand its EV charger business into the Middle East and Africa. Leveraging our competitive product offerings and smart charging solutions based on energy management technology, we will continue to seek new business opportunities in the global EV charging infrastructure market.”
